I'm almost 2 months post op.
I was doing some more dog/house sitting in Kew from the 12th-15th last week looking after Amy the Schmoodle and Ginny the long haired cat.
I woke up at 5:30am on the morning of the last day of my house sit with a very congested head.
Received no warning of it's oncoming - just BOOM!
A congested head and a blocked sore left ear, thanks for coming.
Couldn't get back to sleep so I looked on FB for the 50th time in a 24 hour period to kill time until I could sleep again.
Was hoping for a complete miracle cure by the time I woke up again at a more civilised time in the morning but it never arrived.
Bugger.
So I took myself off to the chemist to get some cold and flu tablets plus some Panadol Rapid.
Turns out that my new stomach doesn't tolerate or approve of cold and flu tablets or Panandol Rapid tablets anymore.
So I turned to the Gastric Sleeve and Bypass FB WLS support group page to ask what medication I could take when in need of some pain relief.
Post WLS we cannot take anti inflammatory medication anymore as we are at increased risk of developing stomach ulcers.
So the FB WLS support group has suggested taking either liquid capsules, liquid cold and flu mixture or kids liquid panadol which will be gentler on the stomach.
Someone suggested rubbing Vicks Vapo Rub on the soles of my feet at night with socks and wearing that to bed.
I'm going to try the Vicks suggestion tonight.
My brother suggested holding my head over a steaming bowl of Eucalyptus oil and water so I'll try that one too.
It's a bit strange discovering what my stomach can now no longer tolerate.
It used to be able to handle anything you could throw at it.
Now the conditions of entry have changed, for life.
